In this workshop we will create a learning community that engages participants in activities that combine systems thinking, sustainable economics, and the science of sustainability. Participants will learn what is necessary to live and work toward a sustainable future.

In this session we will introduce the Framework for Education for Sustainability (EfS) that the Cloud Institute has developed over the past 15 years. We will explore and discuss the rationale for EfS and introduce the knowledge, skills, attitudes and enduring understandings that are core to our work. We will also discuss the relevance of the dynamics of systems and change, the commons, natural laws and principles, responsible citizenship and sustainable economics as integral to sustainable systems. In addition, we will facilitate a dialogue on what can be done with our current resources, and the role of catalytic leadership in the change process.

Jaimie will present: Analyzing Student Work as Evidence of EfS.
Monday, Oct.25 10am-11:15am
In this workshop, Jaimie will review the Cloud Institute’s EfS Standards and Performance Indicators and discuss how to design and assess for them in our curricula. Participants will then practice looking at student work samples for evidence of the attributes of EfS.
